Governor’s Highway Safety Office Announces “Motorcycle Awareness Month”
 
Nashville, Tenn.—Kendell Poole, Director of the Tennessee Governor’s Highway Safety Office, will join Commissioner John Schroer of the Tennessee Department of Transportation, and Colonel Tracy Trott of the Tennessee Highway Patrol to announce May as “Motorcycle Awareness Month” in the state of Tennessee.  The press event will take place Friday, May 2nd at Opry Mills.
 
In 2013, Tennessee experienced 2,867 motorcycle crashes that resulted in 135 fatalities.  In 2014, 337 motorcycle crashes have occurred, resulting in 14 fatalities.  May is “Motorcycle Awareness Month” 
nationwide.  The Governor’s Highway Safety Office urges all motorists and motorcyclists to share the road and ARRIVE at your destinations safely.
