Police officers observing violations of this law are permitted to stop drivers and take enforcement action. PLEASE PROPERLY RESTRAIN CHILDREN.

Public transportation vehicles are exempt from the child passenger safety law and are not required to provide a child restraint for passengers, however if a parent/guardian wants to use their restraint in a taxi then the taxi should allow them to do so. This varies from state to state.
