 m all drug recognition experts must be recertified
  every two years following original certification.
 </p><p>A DRE shall demonstrate continuing proficie
 ncy by:</p><p>(1) Performing a minimum of four (4)
  acceptable evaluations since the date of last cer
 tification all of which shall be reviewed and appr
 oved by a certified DRE instructor and one (1) of 
 which shall be witnessed by a certified DRE instru
 ctor. These evaluations may be performed on subjec
 ts suspected of drug and/or alcohol impairment or 
 during classroom simulations\; and</p><p>(2) Compl
 eting a minimum of eight hours of IACP recertifica
 tion training since the date of the DRE’s most rec
 ent certification which may alternatively be prese
 nted in two sessions of no less than four hours an
 d which shall be consistent with any IACP standard
 s for such training\; and</p><p>(3) Presenting an 
 updated resume and rolling log to the agency coord
 inator or his designee for review.</p><p>A certifi
 ed DRE instructor shall maintain instructor certif
 ication so long as DRE certification is maintained
 . This recertification will be valid for two years
  from the DRE’s last expiration date.</p><p>PLEASE
  NOTE: According to the revised Standards if you c
 hoose to grant a one-year extension (formerly the 
 “grace period”) the DRE will be allowed up to a ye
 ar to complete recertification but the status of t
 he DRE’s certification will NOT be active.</p></bo
