Law Enforcement Aging Driver Specialist (LEADS) Train the Trainer Program

This session will provide 6 post certification hours.  The course will provide the opportunity for participants to become a Train the Trainer for the LEADS program. The session includes topics that include 1) population growth of seniors, 65 and over, in Tennessee; 2) the impact of aging on driving; 3) the safety record of seniors; 4) the five leading causes of senior driver crashes; and the injury prevention basics related to the Haddon matrix. Current safety initiatives as well as proposed ones will be outlined to help law enforcement identify and maximize the safety needs of  high risk senior drivers in Tennessee to help them drive for as long as possible.
