This course is designed to assist law enforcement in screening and identifying medical impairments at the roadside. This education could be applied during a routine traffic stop, traffic accident investigation, or while observing driving behaviors. An objective screening tool will be discussed to assess a potentially cognitively impaired driver. Numerous diagnoses such as dementia, stroke, etc will be discussed in regards to common presentations at the roadside. If impairment is noted, the process of reporting a potentially impaired driver to TN Department of Driver Improvement will be discussed as well as case examples presented. The course will also include education in basic adaptive driving equipment as well as community resources that can assist with alternate transportation if needed. Finally, participants will be provided resources of medical professionals in their respective regions of Tennessee that can clinically assess potentially medically impaired drivers.

- Completion of Pre-Test prior to Instruction
