TENNESSEE HIGHWAY SAFETY OFFICE JOINS MONROE COUNTY TO ADDRESS INCREASE IN FATAL CRASHES

 

MONROE COUNTY – On Wednesday, December 14, the Tennessee Highway Safety Office joins the Tennessee Highway Patrol and the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office for a press event to address Monroe County’s increase in fatal traffic crashes. According to Tennessee’s Integrated Traffic Analysis Network (TITAN), there were 13 fatal crashes in Monroe County last year. In 2022, there have been 16. Contributing factors include different forms of driver error that could be prevented with safe driving habits. Common issues include tailgating, drunk driving, reckless driving, distractions, and more. Speakers will offer traffic safety tips and announce upcoming enforcement efforts to prevent future crashes, injuries, and fatalities.
