W. G. “Buck” Campbell serves as the Statewide Training Coordinator for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office’s Training Program. Mr. Campbell has 32 years of law enforcement experience. He began his career in 1991 as a reserve deputy and later became a full-time member of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) in 1994. Mr. Campbell retired from BCSO as Chief Deputy after 23 years of service.
Mr. Campbell is a graduate of Bradley Central High School with an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Criminal Justice from Cleveland State Community College (CSCC). He is also a graduate of the CSCC’s Law Enforcement Training Academy, the FBI Tennessee Law Enforcement Executive Development, and the University of Tennessee South Eastern Command.
Mr. Campbell holds an ACTAR certification in crash reconstruction and is a Drug Recognition Expert (DRE). He instructs several courses in law enforcement including courses in crash investigation, DUI, RADAR LIDAR and Law Enforcement Instructor Development. He has taught or trained more than 2,000 law enforcement officers in Tennessee. He has been teaching at CSCC’s Law Enforcement Training Academy since 2000.
