Michael Presson is a dedicated law enforcement professional with almost 23 years’ experience. He started his law enforcement career with the Benton County Sheriff’s Office in November of 2000 as a reserve deputy. He quickly moved to full time in February 2001 and graduated TLETA in August. In April of 2003 he moved to Fayette County, taking a position with the Oakland Police Department. While there he began working with THSO and found a passion for traffic safety. He served as a patrolman and earned the rank of sergeant, lieutenant, and captain over patrol until 2008. In September 2008 Michael took a position with the Piperton Police Department where he served as a patrolman, earned the rank of patrol sergeant, and served as the departments GDI until 2015. In September 2015 Michael accepted a position with the Fayette County Sheriffs Office as a deputy. He was promoted to sergeant then to training sergeant and served as the department’s GDI until accepting the Law Enforcement Liaison position with THSO in 2023. During his time with Fayette County SO Michael also served as the Chief of Lagrange Police Department. Michael is a Radar/Lidar instructor, a STOPS instructor, as well as numerous other instructor and training certifications.

Michael has 3 children, Tyler (Chelsea), Savanna (Tristan), Jacob and 1 grandchild Everrett.
