Aaron started his law enforcement career working in the 911 communications center Roane and Rhea counties. Aaron was hired in 2001 part time with the Spring City Police Department and become fulltime in 2005.  Aaron was named officer of the month multiple times during his career at Spring City.  

Aaron started with the Rhea County Sheriff’s Office in 2008, where he worked in numerous divisions including patrol, traffic, school resource, and was promoted to Traffic Corporal in 2010.

Aaron was also assigned to special events and coordinated traffic services for many different events in Rhea County, including the Tennessee Strawberry Festival, Bassmaster’s and FLW Fishing tournaments, working closely with Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Rhea County Emergency Management, and the Tennessee Department of Transportation.

Aaron was promoted to traffic sergeant in 2021 and was also a Grant Coordinator for the Sheriff’s Office. In addition to being a Crash Investigator and Crash Reconstructionist he also served as a school resource officer, boating officer, overseen video evidence, was Radar/Lidar instructor and served as the project director over the Safe Journey Child Passenger Safety Program. In addition to his other duties, Aaron has served the Cumberland Region as a THSO Network Coordinator since 2014.

Aaron has attended numerous courses throughout his career including, SFST, ARIDE, At Scene Traffic Investigation, Advanced Traffic Investigation, and Traffic Crash Reconstruction. Aaron is also a Radar/ Lidar Instructor and Child Passenger Safety Instructor for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office.

Aaron holds an A.A.S. degree in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security from Roane State Community College. Aaron was an active member of the Tennessee School Resource Officers Association (TNSRO), and the National Association of School Resource Officers (NASRO).Aaron also has a passion for traffic safety and education and his main goal as the Cumberland Region LEL is to save lives and reduce traffic fatalities.

The Cumberland Region of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office spans from the the Upper Cumberland region of Tennessee to Southern Middle Tennessee and is made up of 27 county sheriff's offices and 58 police departments. The region is broken down into four networks and is assigned a network coordinators that works in conjunction the with law enforcement liaison in charge of the area.

The Cumberland Region has been recognized four times consecutively by the International Association of Chief's of Police as having the best multi-jurisdictional law enforcement program in the nation.
