Armando S. Fontes is a dedicated law enforcement professional with an impressive track record of accomplishments and contributions to his community. With a career spanning over 25 years, Armando has consistently demonstrated his commitment to public safety and community service.

Armando's career highlights include his appointment by Governor Bill Lee to various esteemed positions, showcasing his expertise and leadership in law enforcement. He was appointed to the Tennessee Opioid Abatement Council, the Police Reform Partnership, and served as a Law Enforcement Network Coordinator for the Tennessee Highway Safety Office. These appointments reflect his dedication to addressing critical issues and implementing positive changes in the criminal justice system.

Throughout his career, Armando has received numerous accolades for his outstanding work. He was honored with the Tennessee Highway Safety Office Director's Award in 2022 and received the East Tennessee Outstanding Department Award from Mothers Against Drinking and Driving in 2016. These awards recognize his proactive approach and leadership in addressing impaired driving and other safety concerns.

Aside from his professional achievements, Armando is also involved in his community and is an active member of Cornerstone Church. He has shared his expertise by developing and instructing Active Shooter Preparation and Prevention Programs for local churches, schools, and businesses. Armando's dedication to safety extends beyond his work as he conducted safety assessments and drafted safety plans for companies.

Armando holds an Associate of Applied Science degree with an emphasis on Public Safety from Walters State Community College. He has also pursued continuous education and training, obtaining certifications as a D.A.R.E. officer, a firearms instructor, an emergency vehicle operation instructor, and a TASER instructor.

In his personal life, Armando is happily married to Jackie Fielder for over 25 years. Together, they have adopted three children and welcomed their fourth child into the world. Armando's strong family values and his faith are central to his life and guide his philosophy of Faith, Family, Service.

With his wealth of experience, dedication to public safety, and commitment to his community, Armando S. Fontes is a respected law enforcement professional who continues to make a positive impact in the field.

Welcome to the East Tennessee Region of the Tennessee Highway Safety Office. The East Tennessee region covers the Knoxville and Fall Branch area of our State, consisting of 24 county sheriff's offices, 66 police departments. and 2 Trooper Districts. The East TN Region is broken down into four networks and is assigned a network coordinator that works in conjunction with the law enforcement liaison in charge of the area.
